Collector's Spoons. Two Splendid Enameled Turn of the Century American Spoons. The spoons of dinner, or tablespoon size. One, with delightful "Arts and Crafts" style handle showing a richly textured cluster of oranges, buds, and leaves. The bowl with delicately colored image of the same, plus the name of "Jacksonville, Fla." The next a Chicago memento with the handle bearing images of the City Seal, a statue of Abe Lincoln, the Water Tower, Fort Dearborn and more. The gilt bowl with textured fields enameled in crimson, and central shield, also colored, with American eagle holding banner proclaiming, "State Sovereignty, National Union." Back of bowl engraved with, "Stella, Feb. 1912." Both spoons finely preserved, with only the slightest of wear. Lengths: 6". Both marked Sterling. Lot of 2 pieces.

Collector's Spoons. A Group of Twelve Colorful Italian Spoons. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, some with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. Notable spoons include one of Venice, with scallop-shell bowl having a brilliantly colored view of St. Mark's, surrounded by orange-red border. Two, spoons from Naples and Lake Como, with fine waterside views that appear to be hand painted. The spoon from Florence with delicately-hued scene of the Ponte Vecchio; the handle shaped as a violet-colored iris. The remaining pieces with similar intricately shaped handles and vivid bowls, range from: Naples, Florence, Bellagio, Rome, Torino, and Venice. Spoons mostly early 20th century, and show slight to modest use. For the collector, an instant collection of fine, older pieces. Lot of 12.

Collector's Spoons. A Group of Eleven Different Spoons, Most with Views of Churches. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, some with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. Two impressively imperial looking pieces have fully enameled faces to the handles. The best from Vienna, gilded, and showing St. Stephan's Cathedral, along with black-edged white textured handle displaying the Hapsburg coat of arms. From Paris, "La Madeleine," with Napoleonic-style handle in light blue, the hand painted arms of Paris surrounded by fired gold wreath. Other sites include the Cologne Cathedral, along with those from Regensburg and Munich, plus Notre-Dame, a view of Bethlehem, and a spoon from Oberammergau. Spoons mostly early 20th century, a few around mid-century, and show light to moderate use. An attractive, and "uplifting" offering. Lot of 11.

Collector's Spoons. A Group of Sixteen Different Spoons, with Various European Views. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, some with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. The bowls portray scenic Alpine or Tyrolean views, quaint medieval cities and bridges along rivers, impressive architecture and more. Locales include: Chambord, Wurzburg, Zurich, Seville, Lucerne, Leipzig, Heidelberg, one the looks like India, and others. Spoons seem to be mostly pre-WWII, with a few around mid-century, or a bit later, and perhaps one or two much earlier. They show slight to moderate use. A European itinerary that can be held in one hand! Lot of 16.

Collector's Spoons. A Lot of Fifteen Different Spoons, with Various European Views. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. But for three heraldic types, and one genre, the bowls show assorted architectural landmarks. Locales include: the Hotel de Ville in Brussels, Wiesbaden's theater, the Centraltheater of Chemnitz, Cerro Santa Lucia, the Casino in Nice, a lone spoon with Taj Mahal, while the genre scene has the storks of Strassbourg nesting among the chimneys. Spoons seem to be mostly pre-WWII, with a few around mid-century, or a bit later, and several perhaps much earlier. They show slight to moderate use. An interesting and colorful group. Three with small repairs to the enamel work. Lot of 15.

Collector's Spoons. A Fine Group of Spoons with Figural Motifs. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces, with one verging on tablespoon size. Most in 800 silver, with half being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. One with a handsome portrait of Franz Josef(?), or an aged Kaiser Wilhelm. Others with quaint renderings of native costume, including: a girl from Malta, a delightful Italian maid from Lugano, two with locals of Mexico, a lace maker(?) from Malta, from Naples, an Italian girl playing the mandolin, and, most humorously, the "Manneken-Pis" from the Brussels, the famous bronze fountain of a little boy peeing! Spoons seem to be mostly turn of the century to pre-WWII, with two or three fairly recent. They show slight to moderate use. Lot of 11. A choice lot!

Collector's Spoons. An Interesting Little Group of Spoons Showing Various Monuments. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with half being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. One with a medieval looking belfry-like structure in Edinburgh, a nice view of the Brandenburg Gate along with the handle being finely enameled, a colorful rendering a Vienna's famed Ferris Wheel, equestrian statues of the mighty in Berlin and Geneva, statues of Beethoven and Christopher Columbus, the "goose man" fountain at Nuremburg, the famed mineral water fountain at Karlsbad, war monuments and more. More than half of the spoons seem to be turn of the century to pre-WWII, with two or three fairly recent. They show slight to moderate use. Lot of 11. A fascinating assortment.

Collector's Spoons. A Fine Collection of Boat and Maritime Spoons. The best of the batch! Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with half being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. Included are: an old time view of New York City's busy waters, the S.S. Empress of India moored in Vancouver, what looks like a side-wheeler before the Konstanz Insel-Hotel, plus another similar view but showing the snow-capped peaks behind Konstanz, along with port or marina scenes at Cologne, Curaçao, Hamburg and more. More than half of the spoons seem to be turn of the century to pre-WWII, with perhaps two newer. They show slight to moderate use. Lot of 10. This assortment should please the specialist collector.

Collector's Spoons. The Last of the Collection. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces, plus other attractive miscellaneous pieces. Most in sterling silver, with all but three having gilt bowls. Six of the spoons feature "bright-cut" engraved inscriptions or buildings on the bowl, several with elaborate handles. One, engraved "Mound, N.D.," with fabulous cowboy roping a steer handle; another with Indian in war bonnet, kneeling on globe ("Rhame, N.D." on bowl); a small spoon with view of the club building of the Wanbanakee Golf Club, Burlington, Vermont; two quality Norwegian pieces: a pickle fork, gilt, with violet enameled handle, and a salt(?) spoon, gilt, with green enameled handle with thistle finial, plus the newest spoon -- from Disneyland; and more. More than half of the spoons seem to be turn of the century or a little later, with two or three newer. They show slight to moderate use, a couple more so. Along with these a protective flannel spoon "apron" from the 20's or 30's, embroidered in dark pink, "SPOONS." Lot of 13 items. A lot well worth looking at.
